How do I identify and verify a customer?

Since the identification of the buyer and the verification of the buyer's basic information is the main task and responsibility of the seller, as a seller, I must know the instructions for verification and confirmation of the delivery of the purchase ("Instructions"). The current version is always available on the link:

1. IDENTIFICATION AND VERIFICATION with Leanpay application for ID/verification ****

For a 100% digital and paperless process Leanpay allows Leanpay ID (also a "VF app") - an app to identify and check customer data.

Identification is required for first-time buyers using Leanpay when purchasing online and must be identified by insight into the ID and obtaining confirmation from Leanpay of successful customer registration via the app (in seconds) before handing over the subject of the purchase. Using the application is extremely easy, and for all information, there is an always valid Verification Application Instruction.

Leanpay allows multiple versions of the Leanpay ID/VF app, which vary in how you log in to the app, and the functionality and in-app processes are the same in all versions:

  • a browser version with login using username and password, the same as for Leanpay browser app for the store - the best solution for "Click and collect" locations
  • browser version that can be used on a smartphone with a pre-registered mobile number to which the user receives a unique 4-digit confirmation code via SMS for check-in - suitable for own store delivery or smaller delivery organizations
  • a version of the app via API that can be used by shops or delivery organizations by anticipating the necessary functionality in their software and connecting them to the Leanpay API

The store orders the use of the app (in the appropriate version) through its Leanpay administrator or by e-mail to partner@leanpay.si

Even when using the Verification Application, it is of course important to confirm:

  1. that the customer is indeed the person for whom we have information in the application, and:
  2. that the correct name, surname, address, date of birth, and information that the customer is a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia -> the data on the identity card are the same as the data displayed in the Verification App or Leanpay app for trade
  3. that the correct phone number belongs to the customer and that he uses his phone
  4. that the buyer has told the person identifying him the correct verification code received by the buyer directly from Leanpay
  5. as seller/delivery man, I enter the necessary customer information correctly and legibly in the Application for Verification

If this cannot be guaranteed, and verification is not successful, the item of purchase should not be surrendered to the buyer (for example: if the customer is not personally present at the time of the pick-up; if the customer's identity document shows different information or does not match the information in the Leanpay application- birth date, first name, surname; if the buyer does not present his identity card or passport with his picture; if the identity document expires)
